How To Make Cheap Solar Panels
Solar energy is one of the most important alternate energy choice used these days. Energy consumption
is increasing day by day and at the same time its production is decreasing. With this decrease in
production of electric energy, its prices are touching skies. Under developed countries are facing shortage
of electric energy and in these countries people need an alternate energy source which can help them in
such condition.
Renewable energy sources such as sun can provide
sufficient amount of energy to meet our requirements. Solar products are becoming famous day by day. These
products have solar panels which convert energy from the sun into electrical energy. These panels are made up of
high quality silicon. Sun light hits on them and result in exciting their electrons. Electrons start moving in
their structure and electricity is produced which can be derived out of them for use in our daily life
electronic products.
Solar panels that are
available in the market are very expensive and if we want to be cost efficient then we will try to minimize
our expenses as much as we can. These expenses can be minimized by either choosing the second hand or low
quality solar panels or making solar panels by ourselves. Making of solar panels need only little bit of
concentration and dedication. We can carry out this whole process in few steps. Those steps are given in the
procedure below.
Procedure
- First step is to find you a small solar panel
which costs below $90. It can easily be purchased from a local RV store. It can be 12 volts panel or 16
volts panel. Choose the one according to your requirements.
- The next thing you require is a rechargeable
battery. If you have chosen a 12 volt panel then 12 volt lead or acid battery is perfect.
- For safety and security purposes you will
require a battery box. This box will ensure safety of your battery as well as children in your
home.
- You will require a DC meter in order to
derive power from your panel to your devices. In our homes our appliances often work at AC so we require a
DC to AC converter also. DC meter should match the voltage of battery and DC
input.
- Now its time to make solar panel by
assembling the accessories. Attach the meter and DC input to the battery. Always connect one wire at a time
and go for the negative connection first. In the same way connect your DC inlet and solar panel to the
battery.
- After carrying out the whole above process
you will be able to convert sun power into useable energy that is electricity. Put the system in the
sunlight for 8 to 10 hours and you would be able to use home made electric power.
Note: Always consult expert on such matters before
experimenting yourself. The information here or anywhere on this website is only for general knowledge and
