Solar Pool Heaters,A Review
Solar pool heaters reduce the cost of energy consumed on
heating the pool water by conventional techniques. They are cost effective than gas and heat pump swimming
pool heaters. They can be used in most of the climatic conditions and let us enjoy the fun of swimming
without the fear of getting temperature. We can save annual operating cost of other techniques once a solar
heater is installed in our pools. A typical solar heater consists of the following parts
- A filter that removes dirt and other harmful particles from the water.
- A solar collector through which water passes to get heated.
- Pumping part which pumps the water from the pool to the heating part and vice
versa.
- A flow control valve, which is operated automatically or manually, and its
function include redirection of water from the heating part of the solar pool.
Working Of
Solar Pool Heater
Water from the pool first passes through the filter to remove dirt and
other particles present in it. Then this water is passed on to the heating part where water gets heated by the
solar collector. A solar collector has a sensor, which redirects the pool water to the heating part if the
temperature of water is less than that of solar collector. If temperature is same, redirection of water is
stopped automatically. Solar collector can also be used to lower down the temperature of water by circulating
water at night.
A solar pool heater will
cost about $2000-$4000 depending on the size, model specifications, and government financial incentives. We can
also make our solar pool heating system by using a pump and some black PVC piping. Different products on the
basis of specifications and performance are given below.
SunMaxx
Solar Pool Heaters
These pool heaters are
designed to give effective results. They consist of flat plate solar collectors and evacuated tube collectors.
These pool heaters work effectively in almost every climatic condition. They can be used in pools of any size
and density. Among other solar pool heater products that are available in the market, this product is affordable
and cost effective. They feature two flat plate solar collectors and 25 evacuated tube collectors to provide an
effective pool heating service.
Fafco
Solar Pool Heaters
These heaters are effective as well
as cheap. Their features include unglazed solar collector. They are available for both above ground and
in-ground pool modals. They come in standard kits of 40K and 80K which are suitable for warmer climates where
cold climate will not damage the collectors or effect their performance and efficiency. These heaters are ideal
for smaller residential pools.
AquaQuick
Above Ground Solar Heating System
This product saves money
and energy by collecting the rays from the sun and using it as heat energy for pool water. It provides better
heating solution for pools without covering large areas like solar panels in conventional solar pool heating
system. They can be installed with our existing pool heating equipment. They can produce heat greater then 25K
BTU’s per day. AquaQuick comes in variable sizes and efficiency depends on their size. It is very sophisticated
and seems easy to assemble.
